Office Christmas Party Games That Don't Feel Awkward

Game Night Paper Co. · 2026-10-19

Most people at an office holiday party want two things: to have a good time, and to avoid anything embarrassing. The best office party games are low-pressure, so nobody is forced to perform. They're inclusive, so they don't depend on drinking or personal topics. And they move fast. Here's a simple program that works for teams of 8 to 80, in person or remote.

1. Start with "Find someone who…" bingo

As people arrive, hand out bingo cards with squares like "has worked here 5+ years", "speaks three or more languages" or "has been on TV". People walk around to find a coworker who matches each square and collect their initials. It mixes departments naturally, and quiet people get an easy reason to start a conversation.

Tip: give every card a different layout so nobody can copy a neighbor.

2. Office friendly feud

Split into two teams (by floor, by department, or randomly) and play work-themed rounds: "Name something people bring to an office potluck," "Name a phrase you hear in every meeting." A host reveals answers as teams guess. Three strikes lets the other team steal.

3. White Elephant gift swap

Set a price limit and number everyone's turn. On your turn, open a new gift or steal one that's already open. A gift can only be stolen three times. Printed, numbered turn tags keep it fair and fast.

4. Secret Santa questionnaires

If you're doing Secret Santa, a one-page questionnaire (favorite snack, favorite color, coffee or tea) takes the guesswork out of shopping. It also prevents some truly baffling gifts.

5. This or That: office edition

Emails or calls? Early meetings or late meetings? Desk snacks or desk plants? Everyone circles their picks. Then find the coworker whose answers match yours most.

6. End with funny awards

Print certificates like Snack Champion, Meeting MVP and Spreadsheet Wizard, and present them with great ceremony. Keep them kind: celebrate quirks, never mistakes.
